The Competition Local Artist jury gives out the CREATIVE REGION Music Video Award powered by the CREATIVE REGION Linz & Upper Austria and Crossing Europe. The choice is between all the music videos presented in the program section Local Artists 2020 made by a director living/working in Linz or Upper Austria, respectively.

Festival Awards 2020
In March 2020 the 17th edition of Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The program planned for 2020 is published HERE.
With "Crossing Europe 2020 - EXTRACTS", Crossing Europe is presenting a multi-part alternative program from April to December 2020 with an online program and a series of physical events in the cinema.

This section with nine to eleven new feature films offers a significant selection of current European young cinema dealing with contemporary subjects. This meant-to-be fresh and original section is open to first and second films of a director only and an Austrian premiere is mandatory.

AWARD for social relevance of a European documentary film

The CROSSING EUROPE Social Awareness Award - Best Documentary is given out to one of the documentary films from the section CROSSING EUROPE Competition - Documentary with a minimum length of 60 minutes and with socio-political/social relevance, which is an Austrian premiere and produced in 2019/20. The award goes to the director of the prize-winning film.

This Competition sections contains six current European feature-length films, selected by a group of juveniles, the so-called YAAAS! Young Programmers. The YAAAS! Youth Jury awards the prize to one of these films.
