Bal

Honey

Honey, the third part in Kaplanoglu‘s Yusuf Triology, tells the story of sensitive six-year-old Yusuf: about the forest nearby, a place of mystery and adventure, the strong bond with his beekeeper father and his difficulties as an outsider during his first year of school. When the bees suddenly disappear, the father decides to set off for the remote mountains. The days pass and he still does not return. Honey is the inner story of a boy who searches for his lost father at a point when he’s trying to make sense of life, living in the remotest and wildest area of the eastern Black Sea Region where modern life has not yet penetrated. Honey was awared with the Golden Bear for Best Film at the Berlinale 2010.
