Stella
A year in the life of a young middle school student in Paris of 1977. Eleven-year-old Stella lives outside Paris in a working-class neighborhood. Her parents run a bar, however she attends a prestigious Parisian School, where she meets Gladys, the daughter of two intellectual Argentinean Jewish exiles.Through the songs of that era and the books that Stella discovers at her friend‘s house, she slowly enters another dimension - real life.
Director's Biography
Sylvie Verheyde, geboren 1967, Regisseurin und Drehbuchautorin. Begann ihre Karriere mit markanten Kurzfilmen wie Entre chiens et loups (1991), mit dem Canal+ Preis beim Festival von Clermont-Ferrand 1992 ausgezeichnet, oder La Maison verte (1992, KF) mit dem Preis der Jury von Nancy 1993 prämiert. Ihren ersten Spielfilm Un frère realisierte Verheyde 1997. Mit Stella realisierte Verheyde den nunmehr fünften.
