Megi braucht eine Mitbewohnerin, Tina eine Bleibe bis ihr Partner nach Tiflis kommt und sie mit ihm zusammenzieht. Aus einem der Covid-Pandemie geschuldeten, eher suboptimalen Kompromiss wird ein zwischenmenschliches Erwachen, denn die introvertierte Tina (Darstellerin Taki Mumladze fungierte auch als Co-Autorin) sieht in der aufgeschlossenen Megi einen aufregend anderen Lebensentwurf als der ihre. Das Programm des von Virginia Woolf entlehnten Titels entfaltet sich filmisch in einem bedächtigen Befreiungsschlag hinaus aus dem gesellschaftlichen Korsett, für den sich die Zeit sozialer Isolation als Glück im Unglück erweist. Tina, a young woman who has lost her way in life, rents a room from the vibrant Megi. Tina has never been accustomed to taking care of herself and now she waits patiently for her boyfriend Beka to join her in Tbilisi. Things don’t go according to plan, however, and Tina, thanks to Megi, starts to discover what it’s like to be free and to be able to make her own decisions without being reliant on men. A self-assured, highly authentic film portraying the life of millennials in contemporary Tbilisi while also exposing the lasting influence of patriarchal thinking on a section of Georgian society.
