O.T. 10

1994 filmte ich O.T.8 - Hof, einen s/w Film in dem vier ‚Schauspieler‘ auftraten: positive und negative Auflichtmalerei, - am Tricktisch animiert und Realaufnahmen - rhythmisierte Einzelbilder - bei Tag und bei Nacht. Diese vier Bildgefüge wurden mittels Mehrfachbelichtung miteinander verwoben. Wobei die Malerei in den Filmraum erweitert wurde und die Fotografie eine malerische Dimension bekam. Dieses Material habe ich digital weiterbearbeitet in dem ich Teile des Films farblich verfremdete und sie als bewegte Balken den ursprünglichen Film überlagern ließ. Die ‚traditionellen Mittel des Experimentalfilms und der gestischen Malerei werden dazu verwendet, die Grenze zwischen Malerei und Film aufzuheben. (Thomas Steiner)

I filmed O.T.8 - Hof, a black and white film, in which four „actors“ performed: positive and negative incidental light painting, - animated at the trick table and with real shots, - rhythmized single images, - by day and by night. These four image structures were woven to-gether with multiple exposures, whereby the painting in the film space was ex-panded and the photography was given a painterly dimension. I further developed this material digitally by distorting the color in parts of the film and superimposing these parts as moving bars over the original film. The traditional means of experimental film and gestural painting are used to remove the boundary between painting and film. (Thomas Steiner)
