Unbekannte Details aus deren Leben werden hier derart irreal aufbereitet, dass uns die Erfindung des Cinematografen selbst als fragwürdig erscheint. Fand diese Erfindung überhaupt jemals statt, und wenn ja, hat sie unser Dasein eher bereichert oder vergiftet. Ein illusionärer-desillusionierender Film über ein illusorisches Medium.
In honor of cinema‘s one-hundredth birthday, Pärn newly wrote the biography of the Lumière brothers. Unknown details from their lives are treated here in such an unreal way that the cinematographs' invention itself appears questionable to us. Did this invention ever even take place, and if it did, has it enriched our existence or poisoned it? An illusionary-disillusioning film about an illusory medium.
