Anna und Mara sind ein Paar. Vom Urlaub im nördlichen Afrika zurückgekehrt, finden sie im Kofferraum den jungen Marokkaner Anis. Als der seinen Onkel nicht finden kann, nimmt Anna ihn wie einen Sohn bei sich auf und verschafft ihm Arbeit. Für einen kurzen Moment entwickelt sich ein fragiles Gleichgewicht zwischen den Dreien. Marco Simon Puccioni verwebt in seinem zweiten Langfilm unaufdringlich ökonomische, soziale und private Strukturen: Dem Arbeitsimmigranten steht die Emigration der Industrie gegenüber; der Wunsch nach Geborgenheit und einer Familie trifft auf Klassenunterschiede; der Wille zur Solidarität wird von Neid unterlaufen. Anna and Mara return from a holiday abroad, and realize that Anis, a young Moroccan immigrant, managed to hide in their car in order to cross the border to Italy. Gradually Anis establishes himself in the life of the couple, and for a brief moment the three manage to help and support each other in an unusual and emotionally intricate relationship. The film explores the relationship between two women, their rapport with the society they live in and the responsibility they have to adopt when confronted with someone more vulnerable than themselves.
