Alois Nebel
Wie vor ihm sein Vater hat Alois Nebel sein ganzes Leben auf der Schiene verbracht, zuletzt als Bahnvorsteher. Er sammelt Fahrpläne, trinkt Bier, raucht und sieht von Zeit zu Zeit Dinge, die außer ihm niemand sonst sehen kann. Irgendwann im Laufe der Zeit wurde er selbst benebelt von vorbeifahrenden Zügen, die den Bahnhof passieren, auf dem er arbeitet und sich ihren Weg quer durch das Jahrhundert bahnen. In diesem Zustand trifft Alois den Stummen, einen Unbekannten, der wie aus dem Nichts erscheint, als käme er aus der Vergangenheit. Alois wird in einen Mord involviert, der in Polen geschah, und dessen Ursprung viel näher am kleinen Bahnhof liegt, als es ihm scheint. (Pallas Films)
It is the end of summer 1989. Alois Nebel works as a train dispatcher at a small railway station in the Sudetenland, a mountainous region on the Czechoslovak border. He is a loner who prefers old timetables to people, and he finds the loneliness of the station tranquil - except when the fog rolls in. Then he hallucinates, seeing ghosts and shadows from the dark past of this region, where after WWII harsh revenge was exacted on the German population. Alois cannot get rid of these nightmares and with the help of the railway worker Wachek, he eventually ends up in a sanatorium. After a while Alois gets better and leaves the sanatorium, but things have changed outside.
Regie Biografie
Tomáš Luňák, born 1974 in Zlín, Czech Republic. He studied animation directing at the Zlín Film School and Prague Film School FAMU. Since graduating he has directed a number of music videos and promotional films.
