Vlado Škafar erzählt in DEKLICA IN DREVO die Geschichte der unsterblichen Liebe zweier Mädchen. In jungen Jahren vom Schicksal getrennt, kommen Vera und Marusha im Alter unerwartet wieder zusammen. Eine Geschichte über die Unendlichkeit der Jugend, die Energie und Unverfälschtheit früher Gefühle, die Stärke und Tiefe einer zwischenmenschlichen Beziehung, die Verbindung zwischen Mensch und Natur, und das was wichtig ist, wenn sich das Leben seinem Ende nähert.

A GIRL AND A TREE tells the story of an immortal love between two girls, Vera and Marusha, separated by destiny when they were schoolgirls in a little village and brought together unexpectedly at old age. It discovers the immenseness of child’s life, the energy and purity of early sentiments, the strength and depth of human bonds and also the bond between human beings and nature. It tells about women's life, about the essence that remains in human beings facing the end of life, about passing away and returning, about a last walk, with death. A GIRL AND A TREE is a view on human life from the hills of old age, still full of life and heart. “I thought we were making a film about passing.
