Uns geht es gut

Sie sind jung. Und dennoch scheinen sie des Lebens müde. Uns geht es gut handelt von einer Gruppe von vier jungen Männern und einer jungen Frau, die sich wie etwas zu alt gewordene Kinder auf dem schmalen Grat zwischen Versteckspiel und Inszenierung bewegen, zwischen der Sehnsucht nach Halt und der nach Einsamkeit. Sie versuchen etwas nachzuspielen, das ihrem Ideal entspricht, etwas, das sie vermissen. Etwas, das sie – warum auch immer – nicht in gewünschtem Maße erfahren haben und wonach sie, ohne es benennen zu können, auf der Suche sind.

Five young people are trapped in a state of eternal summer holidays. The city is their stage, their backdrop is the living room, the swimming pool, the restaurant or the forest’s edge. Abandoned, Tubbie, the unpredictable leader of the gang, Tim, Jojo, Birdie and young woman Marie have created their own family. They stray aimlessly, wistfully and as hungry as wild dogs through the streets of an anonymous city. Together they experience fleeting moments of happiness during the scorching summer. But cracks slowly begin to appear in their coexistence and pent-up emotions erupt in a dramatic act of violence. An aesthetically and visually impressive film about the energy and moods of a small group of people who have lost their grip on reality. (Zurich Film Festival 2015)
