Frei nach Delacroix’ „Die Freiheit führt das Volk“ werden drei Frauen für die Rolle der Marianne gecastet. Eine filmische Exploration menschlicher Wahrnehmungs- und Gefühlswelten, die den schmalen Grat zwischen Geschichtsschreibung und Mythos, Dokumentation und Fiktion, Ironie und Pathos auslotet.
Loosely based on Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People”, during a casting call three women are questioned about their potential to embody Marianne. A filmic exploration of the worlds of human perception and emotion, probing the fine line between historiography and myth, documentation and fiction, irony and pathos.
