Inside 521
INSIDE 521 ist eine Studie über das Innere und das Äußere eines analogen 16mm Projektors. Die äußere Form eines Bolex 521 Vorführgerätes wurde aufgelöst und das Innenleben frei gelegt. Der Inhalt bekommt somit neuen Raum und einzelne Bestandteile werden sichtbar. Diese Details wurden durch Abfotografieren als einzelne Frames zu neuen Kinolaufbildern. Auch bei der Ton-Ebene wurde der Fokus auf die Beziehung zwischen Innen und Außen gelegt. Mathias Burghofer komponierte dazu eine experimentelle Soundcollage auf den Saiten eines aufgeklappten Flügels. Der vormalige analoge Filmprojektor rückt in den Mittelpunkt und wird selbst zu einer digitalen Kinokopie, passend zum 15-jährigen Jubiläum von Crossing Europe.
INSIDE 521 is a study on the inside and the outside of an analog 16mm projector. The external form of a Bolex 521 projector was dissolved to reveal its inner life. The content thus gains a new space and individual components are made visible. Photographing these details as single frames turns them into new cinematic moving images. At the sound level the focus is also on the relationship between inside and outside. For this, Mathias Burghofer composed an experimental sound collage on the strings of an open grand piano. The former analog film projector shifts into focus and thus becomes a digital cinema copy itself, in keeping with the 15th anniversary of Crossing Europe.
