All the Pretty Little Horses

Aliki und Petros, beide Ende dreißig, ein Sohn, werden zunächst in ländlicher Idylle präsentiert. Doch das Glück ist nur scheinbar: Nicht erst als sie in ihre Stadtwohnung zurückkehren werden Spannungen evident. Welche Tragödie mussten sie erleben? Bahnt sich gar eine weitere an? Konstantatos bewahrt einen distanzierten Blick, baut mit präzisen Bildern Psychothriller-Atmosphäre auf und deutet die Hintergründe nur an. So lässt sich der Film in mehrerlei Hinsicht interpretieren: als individuelles Porträt einer modernen Beziehung oder als Reflexion über die Belastungen, die der Kapitalismus mit sich bringt. In the wake of a disaster, Alice and her husband Petros take their young son Panagiotis to a provincial seaside town, seeking refuge. Working temporary jobs, Alice and Petros try to put their lives back together so they can return home to Athens. When Alice begins to realise the plan is not working – or worse, that it may not even exist – the distance between her and Petros begins to grow. (Sarajevo Film Festival)
