Nach Jahren steht der 15-jährige Sebastian überraschend bei seinem Vater Marcel vor der Tür. Sebastians hochschwangere Mutter will mit ihm ins Berliner Vorstadtidyll zu ihrem dynamischen Westfreund ziehen. Entschlossen ist Sebastian geflüchtet - nun sucht er Unterschlupf in der heruntergekommenen Wohnung seines Vaters am Prenzlauer Berg. Doch der arbeitslose Country-Fan hat seine ganz eigenen Probleme. Nachdem sein Laden im "Elektrobusiness" den Bach runterging, ist erfolglos auf Arbeitssuche in der Security-Branche. Als Sebastian merkt, dass es seinem Vater vor allem an der richtigen Strategie in Hinsicht auf eine erfolgreiche Bewerbung mangelt, springt er kurzerhand als Bewerbungscoach ein, wobei er sich an berühmten Vorbildern orientiert: "Ich stell mir meinen Vater immer vor wie Clint Eastwood in In the Line of Fire."

Marcel is so stubbornly a single father that his son stays with the mother. After years of no contact 15-year-old Sebastian is fed up with his mother's new life and moves in with his dad. The father obviously needs the youngster's coaching in his search for a new job. The two indeed develop something of a comradely partnership. However, this special relationship is put to the test when Sebastian introduces his father to a beautiful girl named Nora.
