Ziel dieses Dokumentarfilms, einer der wenigen von Peter und Maja in gemeinsamer Regie gedrehten, ist der Versuch einer Auseinandersetzung mit dem Phänomen der Fotografie. Dazu werden eine Vielzahl an weltberühmten KünstlerInnen interviewt, die hauptsächlich (oder auch) FotografInnen sind, deren Leben von der Leidenschaft für das Standbild geprägt wird. Der Ansatz der zwei Filmschaffenden ist zugleich poetisch und präzise, intim und wissenschaftlich, und thematisiert die historischen Aspekte der Kunstfotografie wie auch die unmittelbaren - rationellen sowie emotionellen - Auswirkungen davon auf die heutigen Welt. Die Natur, physis, kennt keine Bilder. Sie ist nur das ewige Fließen und wir können nie zwei Mal in denselben Fluss steigen. (Stepan Benda)

The purpose of this documentary film, one of the few which Peter and Maja co-signed as directors, is an attempt to analyze and explore the phenomenon of photography. Maja and Peter do so by interviewing a large number of world famous artists, mostly (or also) photographers, whose lives are deeply marked by their passion for still image. The filmmakers' approach is both poetic and precise, intimate and scientific, dealing both with historical aspects of photographic art and its immediate - rational and emotional - impacts on the world today.
