Kaj boš počel ko prideš ven od tu?

Die verlassenen Minen um die slowenische Stadt Trbovlje sind Schauplatz für einen ungewöhnlichen Tanzfilm. An diesem Ort sind nur leere Schächte und halb verfallene Gebäude übrig geblieben und erinnern daran, dass die Minen Generationen von Einwohnern Arbeit und Einkommen geboten haben. Eine Gruppe von Tänzerinnen und Tänzern arbeitet an der Rekonstruktion dieser Zeit.

Most of the film was shot without daylight. The spaces where the film was shot are slowly closing down – the film actually shows something that no longer exists; the mine will close down in a few years, the mine shafts will be filled up with earth... The ”Soul“ of the working-class town of Trbovlje (hometown of choreographer Iztok Kovač and the main source of his inspiration) – embodied in the rhythm of work and rest – has almost entirely evaporated, and its ”Body“ – the gigantic industrial plants built on the surface above the underground network of shafts – lies scattered around the valley like the bones of a decaying animal in a desert. But to a discerning eye this gives a picture of the uniqueness of what used to be the mechanism which our fathers, mothers, uncles and grandfathers so enthusiastically built and breathed though.
