So oder so war von Anfang an als klassisch-pures Hip-Hop-Video konzipiert, allerdings ohne die aufgesetzten Gangsterattitüden der US-Videos und deren Sexismus. Maßgebend waren für Regisseur Dieter Strauch und Texta Locations und „Posing“, während auf eine Narration völlig verzichtet wurde. Alle Drehorte befinden sich in Linz und wurden, in der Art wie sie fotografiert und montiert sind - dynamisch oder eher statisch - auf den Rapflow der einzelnen MCs abgestimmt. So oder So setzt das Feeling einer Hip-Hop Band aus der Stahlstadt Linz visuell um.
From the beginning So oder So was conceived as a classic pure hip-hop video, but without the conceited gangster attitudes of the US videos and their sexism. What was crucial for the director Dieter Strauch and Texta were the locations and „posing“, while they dispensed with narration entirely. All the locations are in Linz and in the way they are photographed and mounted - dynamically or more statically - they correspond to the rap flow of the individual MCs. So oder So is the visual translation of the feeling of a hip-hop band from the steel city of Linz.
