In der Nacht vom 22. Dezember 1989: Der kommunistische Diktator Nicolae Ceaușescu ist aus dem Presidentenpalast geflohen und eine Panzereinheit der Miliz kontrolliert die Straßen von Bukarest. Es ist unklar, wer jetzt an der Spitze des Staates steht; Verwirrung macht sich breit. Während die Einheit in einem eher ruhigen Vorort von Bukarest für Ruhe und Ordnung sorgen soll, erfahren die Soldaten, dass die nationale Fernsehstation von der Armee erobert wurde. Es wird berichtet, dass Pro-Ceauescu-„Terroristen“ versuchen, die Fernsehstation wieder zu übernehmen. It is the night of December 22, 1989. Communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu has fled from his presidential palace, and an armoured squad of militia men controls the streets of Bucharest. No one is quite sure who is running the country and confusion is everywhere. While assigned to keep the peace in a fairly quiet Bucharest suburb, the squad unit learns that the army has taken control of the national TV station, and reports come in that pro-Ceauescu ”terrorists“ are besieging the station, trying to regain control. A young militia man argues with his fellow soldiers and runs off toward the station to help bring down the regime. (Rik Vermeulen)
