In seinem ersten Langspielfilm, erzählt uns Konstantin Bojanov die Geschichte von Avé und Kamen, die sich zufällig beim Trampen durch Bulgarien kennenlernen. Er will zur Beerdigung eines Freundes, der sich das Leben genommen hat. Sie ist anscheinend auf dem Weg zu ihrer Großmutter – nur eine der Lügen, die sie den Menschen in ihrer Umgebung auftischt. Die 17-jährige Avé sagt selten die Wahrheit. Ständig erfindet sie neue Identitäten und Geschichten. Doch im Laufe ihrer Reise kommen die beiden sich und der Wahrheit näher. Ein Roadmovie, so spontan wie die Abenteuer der beiden Charaktere.
While hitchhiking from Sofia to Ruse, Kamen meets Avé, a 17-year-old runaway girl. With each ride they catch, Avé invents new identities for them, and her compulsive lies get Kamen deeper and deeper into trouble. Reluctantly drawn into this adventure, Kamen begins to fall in love with the fleeting girl. Avé is a roadmovie as spontaneous and freewheeling as the characters’ adventures. And, despite the unfolding of two deeply personal dramas, it does not lack levity and humor. „AVÉ is about those exceptional moments in a young person’s life when time feels suspended, and one’s responsibility is only to the beat of one’s own heart.“ (Konstantin Bojanov)
Regie Biografie
Konstantin Bojanov, born 1968 in Bulgaria. After studying cinema and sculpture in Bulgaria, then at the Royal College of Art in London, he made a name for himself as an artist in the arena of modern art with exhibitions in Zurich, Shanghai and Los Angeles. He made his first short Lemon is Lemon in 2001.
