Boven is het stil

It's All so Quiet

Helmer lives with his aged, bedridden father in the Dutch countryside. His working days are marked by the visits of milk collector Johan. One day Helmer decides to renovate the house, buying himself a new double bed and moving his father upstairs. His life gains even more momentum, when adolescent farmhand Henk moves in. “In her latest film, Nanouk Leopold weaves soberly observational but impressive images into a persistently quiet atmosphere that illuminates her protagonist's emotional world and his breakthrough into a new selfconfidence.” (Berlinale)
