Till 31 May five festival films from the program of this year’s CROSSING EUROPE edition are available on the local streaming platform KINO VOD CLUB for Austrian audiences. This year’s festival edition will present itself as lively, open to the world, multi-lingual, and diverse – representative of this are five selected films from different countries that invite audience on a cinematographic journey all over the continent.

On Sunday, the Festival Awards of the 20th festival edition were given out in the Ursulinensaal, Miriam Hie led through the atmospheric evening. Entries from the Competition Fiction, Competition Documentary, Competition Local Artists and YAAAS! Competition were awarded with cash and non-cash prizes worth € 26,500, and the MIOB New Vision Award 2023 (€ 3000) was also presented.

The 20th Crossing Europe Film Festival can be considered a complete success. From April 26 to May 1, Austria’s third-largest film festival enabled the audience to take a cinematic journey from Greenland to the Black Sea in 139 feature, documentary and short films from 45 countries.

On May 1, three award-winning films of the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival 2023 will be shown: The winning film of the CROSSING EUROPE Award - YAAAS! Youth Jury, PETITES / LITTLE ONES by Julie Lerat-Gersant will be screened at Moviemento at 7:30 pm. SIGURNO MJESTO / SAFE PLACE by Juraj Lerotić, winning film of the CROSSING EUROPE Award - Best Fiction Film, can be experienced again at 8:00 pm at City-Kino! MIOB New Vision Award winning film BERDREYMI / BEAUTIFUL BEINGS by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson can be viewed at Moviemento at 20:15!
