Koktebel

Roads to Koktebel

A father-and-son story as a metaphysical journey: following the death of his wife and the loss of his job, an engineer sets out with his 11-year-old son on the way from Moscow to Koktebel by the Black Sea. It is a double process of self-discovery: the father is trying to put his life together following the death of his wife and the loss of his job; for the son, the coming-of-age process begins. With great attention to detail, this road movie follows the traces of the chance occurrences that determine our lives, wandering with a clear destination, but on a tangled path. (Bernd Buder)
