This film starts with the current everyday lives of four survivors of Nazi concentration and extermination camps. Their monologues – about survival, about coming home, about their creations and their jobs, about their families – are the framework for the documentary. Filmed in their homes and cities, they resolutely find the words to tell their stories: Raymond Renaud while tilling his wonderful garden in rural France, Ivan Ivanji while writing novels in a Belgrade tower block, Zahava Stessel while riding the New York subway, Aleksandr Bytschok while eating with his family in Kiev.
