Marlene
Marlene Jahl, a gifted taekwondo fighter, has already won several important medals, and her next goal is clear: the Olympic Games in Tokyo planned for 2020. The strict training schedule, combined with pursuing a degree in medicine, leaves little room for private life, and Jahl manages her days with iron discipline. Director Daniel Kalkhofer creates a factual and focused portrait in which winning plays just as important a role as the sometimes unavoidable losing. (Diagonale)
