A portrait of the little town of Schlöglmühl in Lower Austria eight years after the closing of the paper factory, which had formerly maintained the social structure of the entire town. Those responsible from politics and business have long since departed, are nowhere to be seen. What has also been lost through the factory closure is the dignity and pride of the people. What is left are increasingly deteriorating residential areas, anger and melancholy: in between the interviews the camera scans the walls of the houses and factory halls again and again, as though it were trying to capture the artefacts of a nearly extinct species in the picture.
