Civil Servants

Young police officers are supposed to enforce the law and suppress their personal opinions. After their training, protected by bulletproof vests, shields and a gun, they are sent out on the streets. This documentary accompanies students at a German police academy over the course of their first year. These young men and women are often confronted with realities that take them to their limits.

Director's Biography
MARIE WILKE is a German documentary editor and director. She studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and has worked for German TV stations and news agencies. Her previous works have been shown at various international film festivals. Wilke currently teaches at the ZeLIG School for Documentary, Television and New Media in Bozen and at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
