Chemi otakhi

A Room of My Own

Tina, a young woman who has lost her way in life, rents a room from the vibrant Megi. Tina has never been accustomed to taking care of herself and now she waits patiently for her boyfriend Beka to join her in Tbilisi. Things don’t go according to plan, however, and Tina, thanks to Megi, starts to discover what it’s like to be free and to be able to make her own decisions without being reliant on men. A self-assured, highly authentic film portraying the life of millennials in contemporary Tbilisi while also exposing the lasting influence of patriarchal thinking on a section of Georgian society. (Lenka Tyrpáková, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival)
