Die Vaterlosen

Until the late 1980’s, Hans was the head of the household and lived in a large, alternative shared apartment. His dying wish is to see his children one last time. The return to their former home is the point of departure for a sometimes painful journey into the past – partly shattered relationships are refreshed, old wounds exposed. Marie Kreutzer’s first feature length film tenderly tells a story of an ambivalent family, torn between freedom and commitment, disengagement and the (futile) search for safety. (Diagonale)
